What's your motivator?
We're all different. Shocker, I know. That makes some things great - like the fact that we're all full of surprises, and personalities of our own - and some things tricky. Like motivation. There's no end-all-be-all for it. Everyone is motivated in different ways, by different things, and at different times. In fact, what motivates you right now, in this moment, might bore you tomorrow. So what do you do?
Keep searching. Keep pressing to keep yourself motivated. Whether you want flawless technique, a slender body, financial success, success in relationships, or success in anything else... motivation will help you get there, and enjoy the ride.
Here are some things that motivate others. If something resonates with you, write it down in your own words - or exactly as it is on here - and keep it with you. Keep the motivation alive.
"When I'm doing something that contributes to my goals - or I'm thinking about doing something that will - imagining the future keeps me going. I imagine what I want my life to be like, and I'm exhilarated by the thought that what I'm doing right now is making that happen."
"I'm motivated by all the things that I don't like in my life. Every time I see them, I just have to fix them and make them better. There's a perfectionist in me, and it's always pushing me to improve. Every day I have to do at least one great thing to make my inner-perfectionist happy, or things just don't feel right."
"I'm excited by the thought of trying something so challenging and great that there's a good chance I'll never even succeed at it. It excites me to take on challenges that are out of my reach. It's like they're taunting me, and I want to conquer them. Every time someone tells me ‘I can't' it just makes the desire stronger. Even if I don't reach them though, my life becomes 100x better for trying, and when I fail at something huge I have lots of successes along the way."
"I'm motivated by anger. When things tick me off, that's when I work hardest. It's like I'm getting revenge on whatever made me mad by improving my life."
